Winless Newport are thrashed by City

Morrant Four Counties League round-up

Newport Pagnell remain rooted to the foot of Division One after a six-wicket loss to Milton Keynes City on Saturday.

Unfortunately for Newport the writing was probably on the wall after they opened with 138-6 as Mohammed Hajat bowled 3-34.

And City cruised to their third win of the season on 143-4 with Raj Lall top scoring on 44 and Chris Timms chipping in with 37.

Mick Broad had done his best to delay the inevitable by claiming a decent return of 4-36.

Cublingtong are level on points with City in fourth place after they beat lowly Aspley Guise by seven wickets.

Greg Jenkins bowled 6-32 as Aspley Guise were dismissed for just 116 before Howard Sayers's 47 led Cublington home on 121-3.

North Crawley lost ground on leaders New Bradwell when they suffered a three-wicket defeat to Eaton Bray.

Richard Bryce's fine 69 not out helped Crawley on to 144-9 with Andy Norris returning 3-15.

But Eaton Bray had too much as Andy Norris (30) steered them to 145-7, despite Bryce adding to his batting display with 3-21.

Leaders New Bradwell had their game with Winslow rained off, as was Old Bradwell's game against Elstow.
