July’s heatwave saw a whopping 3,000 litres of ice cream sold at Red Hot World Buffet – an 18 per cent increase on the same time last year.
Diners formed lengthy queues at the brand’s vast dessert counters around the UK, as adults and kids alike stocked up on cooling ice-creams, sundaes and sorbets that come in a huge variety of flavours. Best sellers included mango, chocolate and pistachio.
Deepak Bahuguna, Red Hot’s director of food, said: “The recent heatwave definitely saw a substantial rise in ice-cream sales at Red Hot. We hope this success continues next summer with even more wonderful weather.”
In addition to ice-cream selling well, so too did the thriving chain’s range of thirst-quenching, alcohol-free mocktails, the most popular being Sweet Kiss, a blend of strawberries and pineapple juice, 5,000 of which sold in July.
