Critically acclaimed film star Andy Serkis – who plays Gollum in The Hobbit – will be helping a Milton Keynes company raise money for two charities later this month.
Mr Serkis, who played the same character in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, is due to give an introduction to The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey – when it has a private screening arranged by wealth management company Chancery (UK) LLP, in Cineworld, at Xscape, on January 22.
Peter Nichols, senior partner at Chancery, which is based in Boycott Avenue, Oldbrook, said: “It is great that Andy has been able to take time out of his busy schedule to support us. We have been fortunate to work with Andy over many years and he has featured in movies Chancery have helped fund including Burke and Hare and Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll. We hope the evening is a success and that we can raise some funds for both Willen Hospice and Brain Tumour Research.”
The exclusive private screening will be in 3D and has been organised by Chancery on behalf of one of its clients.
A charity raffle or auction will be used to raise funds for Willen Hospice and Brain Tumour Research.
