Final heat for Band Blitz
It hardly seems possible, but this Friday night is the last ever heat in the life of the Band Blitz competition.

City Nights and The Pitz have been working together for the past ten years to make these events the best for miles – the best for the bands (who can walk off with a stack of career-aid prizes) and the best for the music fans who get to connect with a plentiful amount of new talents.

But after Friday there will be no more. Finished. Kaput – apart from the grand final, of course, on Friday, September 12.

So, who are tomorrow's hopefuls? Let us give you the introductions...

>> After This Plague: A quintet taking influence from the heavier side of the fence – death and grindcore fans won't be disappointed with these fellas, and their self-confessed 'passion for brain splitting music'.

>> Zeitgeist: The name means the spirit of the age, and describes the intellectual and cultural climate of an era. But Zeitgeist let their music do the talking – in a mesh of manners – rock, acoustic and alternative all have a place within this unit of players.
This isn't the first time that the band's members have been involved in a battle of the bands, mind: These fellas spent a time pitting their talents against each other in a school band competition before seeing sense and uniting for the good cause.

>> Altersketch: Alternative rock mob Altersketch have just celebrated their first year as a solid unit. And that, readers, is all the info they've given us. We'll be pinning our ears tomorrow night to hear plenty more!

>> Incendia: A quintet swerving between rock and metal, while 'combining catchy yet technical guitar work, powerful and diverse vocals and incredible drum patterns,' and they are ready to face the opposition at the BB: "Incendia are ready to make their mark on the local music scene with a fresh and new sound that is accessible to everyone," they promise.

Right then, that's the line-up sorted.

Tickets are on sale at £5.50, doors open at 7.30pm and the first band will break out the tune-age from 8pm prompt.

Call for further information and with credit card bookings on MK 660392.

Well done to The Vision who won last week's heat and join Rise Inside, Stanislav and Acacia Close in the Grand Final on Friday September 12.
