An epic fairytale about ‘wishes, family and the choices we make’ will be played out at Stantonbury Theatre this week, when Stagestruck Youth Theatre deliver Into The Woods Jr.

The Brothers Grimm ‘go Broadway’ as Sondheim and Lapine offer up the cockeyed fairytale in an adaption of one of Sondheim’s most popular works designed specifically with young performers in mind.

All of your favourite characters – Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and the Witch – meet and interact in this whimsical original story.

The musical centres on a baker and his wife who want to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the king’s festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk.

When the baker and his wife learn they cannot have a child because of a witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break that curse and wind up changed forever.

This is a funny and engaging way to get you to think about the fairytales you grew up with, and the secrets they reveal about ourselves...

Performances are on Friday at 7.30pm, and Saturday at 2.30pm.

Tickets are £10 (concessions £8.
