Passers-by may be forgiven for thinking they’d gone back in time as Stony Stratford Tennis Club held a unique tournament last weekend.
With modern racquets and attire the usual order of the day, the club, as part of Stony Stratford’s Arts and Heritage Appreciation month, made use of some of their vintage merchandise for a historic tournament.
Tennis fans got to glance through a vast collection of tennis racquets and clothing at the exhibition, and even got to sample a delicious Victorian tea.
Meanwhile out on the court, enthusiasts got to try their arm with some of the old-time equipment, with even the fittest of players quickly finding out just how impractical playing tennis in a three-piece suit can be!
