AN EVENING OF FESTIVE MUSIC & SINGING

Join Milton Keynes YMCA for an evening of festive music and singing for all the family at The Church of Christ the Cornerstone.

Admission is free, on a first come, first served basis, and doors open at 6.30pm. Be aware, last year’s event sold out.

The evening features sopranos Emily Haig and Karen Wilson, as well as the Chase Choir, the Webber Independent School Choir and the Diamond Theatre School Choir. Donations to the YMCA appreciated. There will also be a raffle and festive food, gifts and goodies on sale.

BOOK LAUNCH EVENT

Milton Keynes Library, 10am to 1pm, Saturday

MK-based children’s author Christine Tennent will be launching and signing copies of the second book in her Horace Burp Lizard Boy series, for children aged six to nine. There will also be fun activities for kids. Horace Burp has lizard powers. He can change colour according to his moods and climb like a lizard.

LANTERN MAKING

Visit Festive Road’s workshop and create a lantern ready for this year’s lantern parade at Paraffinalia 2016 on Saturday, December 17. All ages and abilities and families are welcome at the two sessions. Cost is £10 per person and advance booking is essential.

YOUNG PIONEERS

Milton Keynes Arts Centre, 11.30am to 1pm, Saturday

This week’s free workshop, for six to 12-year-olds and their carers is Printing Laceworks with Kyle Kirkpatrick. You will explore early forms of artificial intelligence to inspire your own lace designs, which you will print on to paper, fabric and T-shirts.
