Odeon will open a VIP IMAX cinema when it moves to its new home in MK1 at the end of this month.
The new site, which opens on February 27, is described as a “state-of-the-art flagship cinema” and the best film experience outside of London.
It will include 11 screens, including a custom-built IMAX screen which will be the biggest in the city at 18.5 metres wide and 10.3 metres high. The IMAX screen also has a cutting-edge projection system, which delivers crystal clear images, plus IMAX’s powerful digital audio system
Also in the venue there will be a metropolitan-style Costa coffee shop, a SNOG frozen yoghurt stand, and a Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop.
And the cinema will feature ‘The Gallery’, a VIP ticket upgrade option where guests will gain access to private bar, larger seats, more leg room and unlimited nachos, popcorn and soft drinks, letting them experience the latest blockbusters in even more comfort.
Odeon Milton Keynes general manager Stephen Shaw said: “We’re incredibly excited to have the flagship Odeon cinema in Milton Keynes and within the MK1 Shopping and Leisure Park.
“Milton Keynes has always led the way with cinema technology, opening the UK’s first multiplex 30 years ago and this is set to continue with the new state-of-the-art facility.
“It has been months in the planning and we are now almost ready to open our doors, I hope everyone gets the chance to come down and take advantage of the fantastic new facilities.”
