Indeed, it hasbeen hailed as the theatrical event of a generation.

And this week coming, it comes a-knocking at MK Theatre...

A peaceful family dinner party at the home of the successful and comfortably smug Mr and Mrs Birling is shattered by the arrival of Inspector Goole, a local police inspector.

His investigations into the death of a young woman shake at the very foundations of the lives of each of them and, in doing so, challenge us all to examine our consciences.

A little more than 70 years since it premiered, Daldry’s production unites the 1912 setting of Priestley’s play with the post-world war two period in which it was written.

With a classy cast, led by Liam Brennan in the role of Inspector Goole, and astonishing set design, the result of Ian MacNeil’s award-winning creativity, visitors to the theatre in the coming days will be chilled and wowed in equal measure.

Lashing rain, an evocative score and raw emotion will bring about the goosebumps...

An Inspector Calls shows from Monday to Saturday.

Evening performances are at 7.30pm, with 2.30pm matinees on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Tickets start at £12.50.
