Education summit will hit the high notes

This year’s Music Education Conference for schools across Milton Keynes takes place later this month.

The conference, led by Community Learning MK, is for Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and anyone who recognises the importance of delivering a high-quality music education.

The Keynote speaker at the event will be Mike Sheridan, senior HMI and operational lead for the South East of England. Guest speakers include Sir Robin Bosher, Ofsted’s Regional Director for the South East and National Director for inspector training, and Kevin Rogers, County Inspector, Hampshire Music Service, who will be discussing the implications for schools when assessing musical progress.

Workshops will be available for delegates to attend on a range of subjects, including World Music, Technology, Special Educational Need and Disability and ‘Why KS3 Matters’ with Jane Werry from ‘TeachTalkMusic’.

David Rose, Vice Principal of Community Learning MK, said: “This year’s Music Education Conference promises to be a fantastic event. We have a great line-up of speakers and it will be a very useful day for every delegate that attends.”
