Milton Keynes-based composer Peter J Taylor is seeking 26 guitarists to participate in the UK premiere of his first major composition, in August.
Cunningly titled titled Music for 26 Guitars, it was first aired in Austria in 2009, which at the time was celebrating its role as the European Capital City of Culture.
The sounds will go down at Milton Keynes Gallery on August 10, as part of an engaging season of events collectively called MK Calling, which will showcase emerging and established talent in equal measure.
Described as adaptable and challenging to both the listener and the participating musicians, it promises to be an exciting orchestration.
“I’m really excited at the prospect of presenting this work in Milton Keynes,” Peter said.
“The work requires at least two days of rehearsal before the event and I’m looking for musicians who can follow staff notation, provide their own amplification and a reliable tuner.”
