MADCAP Theatre has one heck of a big event ready to tickle your fancy on Saturday, and when we say big, we aren’t fibbing.
Compendium is an all-dayer, mixing video art and giant board games (for a truly tactile experience) with a sensational amount of live music, and sounds from deck-deliverers.
What does this mean in layman terms?
“Expect to hear an eclectic mix of lounge-core, theme tunes, rare soul, no-wave, funk, folk and eccentric oddities with live musical interludes, coming courtesy of the Madcap Youth Music Project,” they say.
But that’s not all.
“There will be a supporting cast of vocalists, adventurers and attention seekers stopping by on their travels,” they added.
Beating a live path will be percussionist Mr Hard Hands, and those DJs we mentioned?
Shane Quentin, Jon Chase, James Clark, DJ Maniphest, Tim Gallagher, Soulchild, J-Ho and Dr Lee will spin free, while the Poetry Kapow crew might also be showing up on the day...
There will be heaps of things to make and do, along with live video art, cut ups and projections. With 11 hours of sounds set up by the Madcap Preservation Society, you can afford to stay on site for the lot – with plenty to satisfy tastebuds and hunger pangs.
Tickets a fiver for adults, £4 for concessions, £2.50 for kids or take a family ticket for a tenner.
