STANTONBURY-based Ludamus Theatre celebrate their birthday this week, with another perfect production set ready to pour before audience this evening, and through to Saturday.
Ludamus are now 20 years young and the youth and community ensemble have set up a stonker of a show ready to serve as their birthday bash.
The not-so-snappy-but-very-intriguing title of the piece?
Carlos The Hapless Peasant Vs The Whirligig of Time.
Here you go: ‘Carlos, The Hapless Peasant (the most unlucky and ineffectual peasant in the tiny Mexican village of Papanuwenwe), is the only person who can stop the destruction of the entire universe!
‘Can he succeed in his quest to gather together a coherent band of heroes from many different worlds and stand in the way of the annihiliation of everything?
‘Or will he fail, like he fails at everything else?’
You know that if you want to find out the answer, you need to go make tracks to Stantonbury Campus Theatre at 7.30pm nightly.
This community theatre has expensive action but at a cheap price – a fiver for adults and just three quid for kids.
Oh, and if you are thinking of settling your bottom down in a pew to catch the piece, expect plenty of singing, dancing and sci-fi Shakespearean romance...
