They promise to be as lovely as Gary Barlow. Definitely not Simon Cowell. Who are we talking about? It’s the Leighton Buzzard Drama Group casting panel, who will be judging the open auditions for their annual pantomime.

This year the pantomime is everyone’s favourite, Cinderella. So if you can sing, dance, act – the local drama group (who won the NODA amateur dramatics society award for Best Panto in 2010) want to hear from you.

Director Jo Taylor says “We are looking for a lovely Cinders, a charming Prince, and the two Ugliest Sisters you can imagine! And we promise to be nice – no nasty judges at these auditions. We are a very friendly group who are always looking for new talent, especially younger performers over the age of 16.”

Auditions will be held at St Barnabas Church Hall on September 18, from 12.30pm. The shows will take place in January and you will need to be available during October, November and December for rehearsals. Audition details can be found at www.lbdg.org.uk, or you can call membership Secretary Lainy on 01525373750. Auditions are for over 16s only.

Plus, if anyone is interested in buying tickets for the show, they better move fast as two nights have already been sold out. Sales opened on Thursday.

Cinderella is on at the Leighton Buzzard Theatre between January 5 and January 21. For tickets call the box office 0300 300 8125.
