LATER this year, the remake of the 1984 film blockbuster Footloose will hit cinematic screens, but why wait to catch the acclaimed dance flick when MK Theatre has the stage version ready and waiting?
The original movie made stars of Kevin Bacon and Sarah Jessica Parker, but more than one figure appearing in this production is already familiar.
In his time, Matt Willis has been crowned King and been Busted thanks to his stints in the small screen jungle favourite I’m A Celebrity, and as one-third of pop success Busted.
But from Monday, Matt will assume the role of Chuck.
Fans of now defunct soap Brookside will recognise the chap playing the Rev Shaw Moore – it’s Steve Pinder, aka Max Farnham.
Star in the making Max Milner plays Ren, the city boy who arrives in small-town Bomont and immediately breaks the peace and quiet...and every taboo too!
Ren brings dance back to a town that has been held back by the memory of a tragedy.
Whether you were there the first time around and want to relive the memories of hazy 80s excitement, or if you simply want to swot up ahead of the remake that is hurtling your way, you’ll find a show brimming with big, fat chart-bothering tunes – numbers like Holding Out For AHero, Almost Paradise, Let’s Hear It For The Boy, and that gargantuan title number.
EVERYONE knows that, no exceptions.
Performances are 7.30pm nightly through to Saturday, February 12, with the exception of Friday (show times 5pm and 8.30pm) and an additional late matinee at 4pm on Saturday.
A touch tour is offered at 6pm on Wednesday, and an audio described performance will run on the same day, from 7.30pm.
