MK Amateur Operatic Society: All dressed up and ready to go

YOUR guide to the panto action happening in the area appeared in last week’s GO! of course, but here’s another one to consider before making your booking: Northampton’s Deco Theatre is currently showing Aladdin.

Chesney Hawkes, the fella who delivered The One and Only to the pop charts, will be starring in the production, with former Hollyoaks actress Melissa Walton also on board.

Tickets start at a very reasonable £9.50.

Call the box office on 01604 935678.

>Don’t forget that The Stables is offering an alternative to Panto power, with its delivery of A Christmas Carol, by The Strangeface Company.

Performances run December 21 - January 8, 2011.

>The MK Amateur Operatic Society, who gave us a Dame of a GO! cover last week, return for their annual tinsel affair at Stantonbury Campus next week.

From December 22 through to January 3, the local delights will offer romance, adventure and a lot of laughs, with Robin Hood and The Babes in the Wood.

VAGABOND Cinema present Monsieur Hulot’s Holiday (U) on Saturday evening. Vagabond’s Crimbo delivery it may be, but it’s not your typical Christmas based film.

In short? This flick was five years in the making and marks the debut of Tati’s alter ego, Mr Hulot, a gangly and awkward Frenchman, perpetually at the centre and possible cause of a whirwind of disasters and mishaps.

St George’s Church in Wolverton will host the film for all the family, and mince pies and mulled wine will be served. For your part, you will ideally arrive wearing stripy shirts and eye patches.

Aside from the main billing, a short film courtesy of the Living Archive will play out.

Doors at 7pm and tickets are on sale at £5 and £3.
