The local independent cinema screens classic movies in the great outdoors –complete with a little Hollywood glamour.

Guests to the Art Deco style showings, will be treated as A-listers themselves – walking the red carpet to their seats and waving their gold flags for table service from a traditional usher or usherette.

VOA Cinema premiered in 2019 and after a year of disruption its coming back with brand new ideas and concepts. This year they will team up with local curry houses and offer MK its first Bollywood Open-Air Cinema.

Complete with the movie star experience of dressing up and getting a Polaroid snap taken upon arrival, guests can also win free tickets and drinks. The food and drinks

are often themed to the movie showing, and Sadie, Luke and their team get fully dressed up for the show. The 4D experience might have you feeling popcorn showering down on you, rice and even the odd water pistol.

“We are buzzing for our premier for summer 2021. We are great advocates for bringing romance to people. It makes us feel like cinematic cupids! We thought there was a need to bring back some sparkle to cinema and make guests’ nights extra special. Ticket holders get to settle under the stars in a comfy chair with their loved ones, tucked in with a soft blanket, surrounded by festoon lights; it is a magical, memorable night out.”

“We wanted guests to be able to fully relax and feel immersed in our nostalgic theatre setting and we have worked hard on creating a great ambience for the events. We think we achieved that and feedback has been great,” said locally based artist Luke McDonnell, one of the event organisers.
