New Big Band Swing Show coming to Milton Keynes

Local Jazz and Swing Singer Ollie Corbett brings a fresh twist to the big band tradition with his new show The Next Gen Big Band Swing Thingy, a high-energy live concert celebrating some of the biggest hits of the past three decades - all reimagined in a rich, jazz-infused big band style.
Taking place at the Arts1 Studio Theatre in Milton Keynes on Saturday 18 April 2026, this one-night-only event promises a vibrant evening of live music, featuring bold new arrangements of songs originally made famous by artists including Harry Styles, Adele, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Oasis, Queen and ABBA.
Ollie has combined the classic Rat Pack swing with the anthems of the 90s, 00s and today. Featuring the music that Ollie grew up with, the show offers audiences something both nostalgic and completely new.
Describing the new show, Ollie said it has “big band energy for the Spotify generation and beyond - taking songs people already love and giving them a bold, timeless edge. My mum and dad love it, so that’s a good start”
Backed by a live ensemble of outstanding musicians, The Next Gen Big Band Swing Thingy is designed to appeal not only to jazz and swing enthusiasts, but also to pop fans eager to experience chart-topping tracks in an entirely new way.
All proceeds from the event will support Ollie’s fundraising efforts for Mind, the mental health charity, as part of his London Marathon campaign. The concert therefore promises not only an unforgettable night of live performance, but also a meaningful contribution to an important cause.
