Strolling with Chandrika and Damini

ONE way to temporarily banish school summer holiday blues is by taking your offspring to Woburn Safari Park.

With an abundance of things to see and do, and the chance to get up close and personal with some truly amazing creatures, it’s a no brainer.

You don’t need to spend half the day trapped inside a hot and sticky motor, either, seeing as how Woburn is on our doorstep.

What’s not to like?

The Park currently has even more reasons to enjoy a visit just now, with the arrival of two beautiful new giraffe babies.

Cute as cute can be.

Elephants Chandrika and Damini are a pair of heavyweights making the most of the summer weather too, with a daily stroll from their new house, through the Wild World Leisure Area and over to graze in the beautiful woodland.

If you are paying a visit, keep your eyes open for these magnificent gargantuan strollers, right.

>Tomorrow, Woburn is holding a special one-off event between 3 and 9pm.

Tickets are £7 and allow entry to the park to watch the animals at dusk, and the chance to participate in a whole host of games and activities.

Interactive drumming, arts, crafts, face painting and plenty of other bits and pieces will make for an exciting evening.

And with all monies raised (including the cost of tickets) going to the Plight of the Apes campaign, there is no reason to feel guilty for splashing a little cash.
