VIDEO: Scenic backdrop to this year’s Cycletta

LAST year’s popular women-only cycling event, Cycletta, is moving to the scenic surroundings of Woburn Abbey for its second outing.

Cycletta Bedfordshire, which last year took place in Whipsnade, will see hundreds of women using pedal power to cover a 40km route around the historic estate on May 13.

Cycletta events, which this year will take place across the country, are held on safely managed routes and are aimed at inspiring female cyclists.

They are fronted by Olympic gold medallist Victoria Pendleton.

All participants are encouraged to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support to help improve the lives of people living with cancer.

A Cycletta spokesman said: “Last year around 800 women took to the roads of Bedfordshire in September and this year organisers are looking forward to welcoming numbers of more than 1,000 at stunning Woburn Abbey.

“Woburn is the perfect host venue – the abbey itself will make for a spectacular backdrop.”
