Nightflix owner John Sullivan says: “This year has been a tough one for film fans without access to their local cinemas, and we’re delighted to be able to bring a Christmas schedule packed with something for everyone to enjoy in socially-distanced drive-ins around the country.

"These films are so strongly associated with the festive feeling, and even in areas under strict lockdown the drive-in still lets families enjoy Christmas classics from the comfort and safety of their own vehicles. We’re ho-ho-hoping to bring a bit of festive cheer to people with these wonderful films.”

The month-long schedule of films is stuffed full of festive classics both old and new.

Customers can enjoy everything from Love Actually to Elf, debate the merits of Die Hard as a Christmas film, forget something important with Home Alone, and take a trip on the Polar Express from the comfort of their own cars in a naturally Covid-safe environment.

There are also screenings of films including Paddington, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, A Star Is Born, The Greatest Showman, Rocketman and Bridget Jones’ Diary alongside other Christmas crackers: The Muppet Christmas Carol, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Nativity!, The Holiday – and The Nightmare Before Christmas for film fans with a darker streak.

The sites at Colchester, Newark, Milton Keynes, Longmoor in East Hampshire, Stoneleigh in Coventry and Rainham in Kent will be hosting films throughout December, including screenings on Christmas Eve.

Audience safety is at the centre of the drive-in cinema event planning. All government guidelines on social distancing will be followed, including track & trace measures and local lockdown tier adherence. A full list of all COVID safety measures in place on sites is available at www.nightflix.co.uk.

The sites will be fully decked with festive cheer so that film fans can get into the Christmas mood. Visitors can also enjoy their usual favourite cinema snacks with their film as food and drink will be available to purchase on site, with social distancing guidelines in place to assure moviegoers safety.
