Ainsley Lawless was furious when she watched a clip of Prime Minister Boris Johnson and MP William Wragg last week discussing why the beauty industry should not re-open.

"They basically laughed. They smirked at each other, they thought it was a joke. What they don't see is that there's people out there who are providing for their families who cannot go back to work," said Ainsley.

"They were making a mockery of us and laughing at the beauty industry."

Ainsley, 40, is a microblading artist at Brows by Ainsley in Stony Stratford High Street.

She said: " I’m not a social media type - I just do what is required for my business. But in a spontaneous rage, I went online to communicate to my clients and the video seems to have blown up.It's had almost 12,000 views and hundreds of shares."

"It’s a total surprise and I’m mortified as I was without makeup and basically a bit of a mess. But I stand by the message.

"It seems to have struck a cord with thousands and I’m doing all I can as a result to raise the profile of getting some clarification for the beauty industry. I want to try and fight for our forgotten industry."

Ainsley describes in the video how her services are important because they make people feel better about themselves. She also performs valuable work of people who have lost their eyebrows through alopecia and other illnesses.

"But we have been forgotten. The world is opening up but we are forgotten," she said.

Spurred on by the deluge of message of support she has received, she has now written to Boris and also the MPs for Milton Keynes to ask for clarity about when the beauty industry can re-open.

"All we want is an idea, so we are able to plan... I'll do my little bit and I know there's thousands of people doing their little bit , and as a combination, hopefully we can get somewhere in getting some answers for the beauty industry," she said.

"I just want to get out there and see all my clients and start making everyone feel good again."
