McDonald's have today revealed which restaurants will re-open from next week.

No MK restaurants are on the list, but three in Luton will be opening their doors to serve a limited menu on Wednesday May 13. Here's what will be on those limited menus.

This week Ken Tomkins, the owner of six of McDonald's restaurants in Milton Keynes, revealed how work was going on behind the scenes to find the safest way to re-open as soon as possible.

Ken's franchise ,called Kaizen Restaurants Ltd, operates the McDonald's in CMK, Brickhill, Kingston, Westcroft, Wolverton and Xscape.

Nationally, McDonald's bosses say there will be a "new normal" when the businesses re-open. All premises will have been deep cleaned and will be equipped with perspex screens and floor markings to observe social distancing.

Workers will have their temperatures checked when they turn up for their shift and smaller teams will work in the kitchen.

A limited menu of McDonald's classics, including two veggie dishes, will be served and breakfast will be temporarily scrapped, with restaurants opening at 11am and closing at 10pm.

A McDonald's spokesman said: "When we return, it will be different as we all adjust to the new normal."

McDonald's staff in MK have kept busy during lockdown delivering supplies to Milton Keynes Hospital and the YMCA Milton Keynes.

A spokesman said: "We hope this will go a little way in helping their teams, who work tirelessly every day. We’re so proud to be a part of the incredible MK community."

Meanwhile Burger King has opened a handful of branches nationally for home delivery with more to follow throughout May.

KFC has reopened 100 branches across the UK for home delivery, but the five restaurants in MK remain closed.
