Most shoppers were pragmatic about the long wait though. "It will be worth it. My children have grown out of everything during lockdown and I can't wait to restock their wardrobes," said one.
Another said: "I've run out of socks and my pyjamas and leggings are practically worn out because I've worn them so much during lockdown. I'm looking forward to buying new ones!"
The second most popular store in MK is still proving to be IKEA, which re-opened two weeks ago. The weekend saw people queuing for two hours to get inside, while weekday queues are still an hour long.
