StressNoMore, an online health and wellbeing retailer, has analysed three years’ worth of data on the nation’s festive Googling habits – including Christmas films, songs, gifts, trees, decorations, lights and carols – to find out where has the most Christmas spirit.
Out of the 50 towns and cities studied, Milton Keynes is ranked as the eighth most festive place to live in the UK. The town scored 53 out of 100 on the 'Clausometer scale'.

Stephanie Taylor, managing director of StressNoMore, said: “It’s been really interesting to find out where in the UK has the most Christmas spirit…and where the UK’s biggest scrooges are likely to live.
“This year has been difficult for all of us and it’s still unclear whether this Christmas will be anything like the one we usually enjoy with our friends and family. But no matter what, we hope this festive season provides some light relief and distraction from your everyday stresses, if you love Christmas or not!”
Leicester was crowned the most festive place to live in the UK, scoring 99 out of 100 for Christmas cheer.

At the bottom of the list is Slough with the lowest levels of Christmas spirit in the UK, scoring just 2 out of 100 on the Clausometer. Slough residents are most interested in putting up a Christmas tree, but are less fussed about Christmas cards, films and gifts, according to the data.
Other places where Christmas spirit is low across the UK is Newcastle, Nottingham, Bristol, and Manchester.
