Pizza Express restaurant to close in Milton Keynes

The Pizza Express in The Hub has been chosen for closure but the other restaurants in the nearby shopping centre, Xscape and MK1 will remain open.
The company announced yesterday that will close 73 restaurants and cut 1,100 jobs after being hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.

Hide AdIt has entered into a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) to reduce its restaurant and rental costs.
A spokesman said that although the majority of its restaurants were profitable before lockdown was imposed, earnings had been declining across for the past three years.
The cost of lockdown and reopening, coupled with the UK’s uncertain economic future, meant its rental costs were no longer sustainable, said the spokesman.
