Lidl GB’s regional head of property, Jason Buckley, said: “We are committed to working with both the council and local residents to deliver an attractive new store in Oldbrook, which will allow for a larger, more modern store and enhanced shopping experience, whilst providing customers the full range of quality Lidl products at unbeatable prices.

“Our plans are set to create around 20 additional positions, whilst retaining all previous colleagues, which would be fantastic for the local community, and we hope that as many people as possible are able to join us for this virtual public consultation. We look forward to sharing and discussing our plans with everyone.”

The new supermarket forms part of the company’s £1.45bn investment in its expansion across Great Britain in 2019 and 2020.
