The houses will be built by Bovis Homes on land off of Yardley Road, in Olney, with work due to start later this year.

Bovis Homes, which is part of the newly-formed Vistry Group, said it is set to contribute £4.5million to the project and will invest in roads, a cycle path, sports pitches and public open space.

The national housebuilder said it will build 125 properties; 38 one to five-bedroom affordable homes, and 87 private two to five-bedroom homes. The rest will be built by developer Taylor Wimpey.

Victoria Southern, from the Vistry Group, said: “We are thrilled to start work on this very exciting community over the coming months and to contribute towards enhancement of the wider area for local residents to enjoy for decades to come.

“This investment in play areas, roads, safety measures and open space, will be a real boost in what will be a highly sought-after place to live with great schools and transport links for commuters and parents alike. We have worked closely with Milton Keynes Council and look forward to unveiling our show homes in the new year.”

A Vistry Group spokesperson said a cycle path to Olney Middle School, a pelican crossing, community building, play areas and a 30-metre woodland buffer are also part of the plans.
