A government flood alert, which was updated today, regarding Milton Keynes, Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire river levels said: "River levels are falling at the Newport Pagnell Cemetery river gauge however levels remain high lower down the River Ouse as the peak moves downstream.

"Consequently, flooding of low lying roads and property is still possible. We expect flooding to affect River Great Ouse from Newport Pagnell to Roxton. Further light rainfall is forecast over the next couple of days, however we do not expect this to result in further river level rise.

"We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated at 17:00 on Friday 9th October 2020, or as the situation changes."
