More than one million pounds discounted in Milton Keynes as part of the Eat Out To Help Out scheme
The total amount of discount given to diners in Milton Keynes South was £420,000, and in Milton Keynes North it was £710,000 - bringing the combined total to £1,130,000, according to the government's latest statistics.
More than 82,000 meals were claimed in Milton Keynes South, and 123,000 in Milton Keynes North.

Hide AdOn average per meal, customers in Milton Keynes South had a discount of £5.15, and in Milton Keynes North it was £5.75.
Ninety-five establishments in Milton Keynes South signed up to the scheme, compared to 133 in Milton Keynes North.
The scheme was aimed at boosting the hospitality industry following lockdown, by offering customers who dined out from Monday to Wednesday in August a discount worth up to £10 per head.
Data from OpenTable shows bookings increased across the UK by an average of 52 per cent on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the whole of August, compared to the same days in 2019.

Hide AdIn total, more than 100 million meals were claimed across the UK, with 84,700 establishments in total signing up.
