'Our Milton Keynes dealerships will stay open,' insists Jardine Motor Group

Jardine Motor group has broken its silence to state its dealerships in MK will remain open.

But the company has still refused to say exactly what it is planning to close in MK and how many job losses there will be.

The trade press reported today that the group is closing is head office sites in Milton Keynes and Colchester.

In MK, the Jardine site at Northfield incorporate showrooms for Milton Keynes Audi, Lancaster Jaguar, Lancaster Land Rover, Lancaster BMW and Lancaster MINI Milton Keynes.

The Citizen asked the company specifically if the dealerships were going to close, but a spokesman refused to comment.

Now, however, Jardine's Group Marketing and Innovations Director Matt Wrigley has issued another statement saying: "I can confirm that we are not closing any of our dealerships in Milton Keynes or Colchester. As covered in our previous statement, we have entered in to a period of consultation with our teams across the group and therefore will not be commenting any more at this time."

Neil Williamson, CEO of Jardine Motors Group said: "Following on from the well-documented impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on the automotive industry and UK business, we have made the difficult decision to review the structure of our operations... While these are challenging times, our single goal is to ensure we safeguard as many jobs as we can and as a result ensure the longevity of the business."

Jardine operates from dozens of different locations across the UK and represents 16 brands including Ferrari,, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Audi, Land Rover and McLaren.
