Prodrive Composites already employs 120 people across its two sites in the town. But successful new contracts won over the past two years, and a steady drive from the automotive industry for lighter materials for cars, means for exciting news for the local job market, says Operations Manager Rowan Carstensen.

He said: “We are actively recruiting to double our business between now and February from a range of backgrounds and disciplines, primarily to be retrained to work in the laminating, assembly and painting sides of the business, but all areas will require growth.”

Joining Prodrive at this hugely exciting time comes with many benefits, not least of all the chance to work on something so forward-thinking and industry leading as well as shifts which fit various lifestyles.

Rowan added: “As more and more people choose electric cars the manufacturers need lighter components to allow the car to carry more weight in the batteries – translating to more range. People joining us will not only be offered amazing career development opportunities, they will be doing their own bit towards the drive for net zero.”

About Prodrive

This is the Milton Keynes success story that’s a huge player in their niche industry. You may know the brand name from its long association with Subaru and the World Rally Championships, but the firm is also the largest UK manufacturing base for lightweight composites bodywork and stylish carbon trims. Clients include almost every car manufacturer, including Aston Martin, Lotus, Bentley, Jaguar, Land Rover and McLaren.

The firm even supplies all the components on the latest Aston Martin Vantage GTE and more recently will supply all the components for a solar power electric car which has a range of >700miles – Lightyear 0.

Away from the road and up in the skies Prodrive has created first class cabins for the Boeing Dreamliner, built the full prototype for a flying ‘air-taxi’, a range of satellites, helicopters and drones, and at sea it supplies to the Royal Navy and a fleet of racing yachts.
