Red Bull chief tops award bill

AWARDS organisers have secured a major coup by signing up Red Bull team principal Christian Horner as their headline guest.

Mr Horner is the team principal of the F1 racing side based in Bradbourne Drive, Tilbrook, that is on course to win its second consecutive constructors and drivers world championship.

Awards chiefs at Milton Keynes and North Bucks Chamber of Commerce are cock-a-hoop at securing Mr Horner’s attendance at the awards night on October 20.

Rita Spada, chief executive at Milton Keynes and North Bucks Chamber of Commerce said: “We are delighted that Christian has agreed to be our guest for the annual chamber dinner and business excellence awards.

“Whenever he gets the chance he speaks highly of the Red Bull team back in Milton Keynes and is a great promoter of the new city. As the leader of a world-beating team based in Milton Keynes and proud of it he is the ideal role model.

“Our awards night will see a different format when respected BBC business journalist Declan Curry puts questions to Christian. We are sure the audience will have a fantastic, entertaining and engaging night – come and join us.”

Mr Horner, 37, has led Red Bull from new kids on the block to World Champions in just six seasons. He has helped secure victory by recruiting a design group led by chief technical officer Adrian Newey, who many regard as a genius in his field. The team’s drivers are current F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel and his competitive team mate, Mark Webber.
