Tracey brews up for awards

EN-TEA-PRENEUR Tracey Bovingdon, the mum behind the Tea Monkey cafe concept in a posh Milton Keynes shopping centre, is one of the entrants for a top title in this year’s business excellence awards.

Tracey saw a gap in the market for a cafe focusing on tea as its unique selling point and has entered in the entrepreneur of the year category.

The Tea Monkey outlet in Midsummer Place, in Central Milton Keynes, opened its doors for the first time earlier this year. It is planned to be the first of many across the UK.

Judges in the Chamber of Commerce’s awards category, sponsored by Powernet, will be looking for an entrepreneur who has had outstanding success over a number of years and who is recognised by their peers as an outstanding business person.

And just to show that it never rains but it pours when it comes to awards, mum-of-two Tracey has also reached the final of the national Mumpreneur Awards, an annual ceremony aimed at celebrating parents throughout the UK who manage the difficult task of juggling business with family life. Tracey has been shortlisted for best green business and the inspirational business mum.

Winners of the chamber awards will be announced on October 20 at Doubletree by Hilton, Stadium MK. To book tickets email the chamber on [email protected], or phone 01908 259000.
