UK's most popular Job Show in Milton Keynes forced to postpone for six months

A job show due to attract thousands of people has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Milton Keynes Job Show was due to take place later this month, on March 27 and 28, at centre:mk.

It bills itself as "the UK's most attended recruitment event" and enables jobseekers to meet top employers face to face and apply directly for thousands of vacancies

The show has now been postponed until September 18 and 19.

A spokesman said: "After much thought and consideration we have decided to postpone the March 2020 event until September 2020. Due to the global pandemic of COVID-19 we believe this to be the safest option for all of our visitors and exhibitors."

It will now take place on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th September at centre:mk.

Meanwhile MK College has cancelled its Open Event due to take place tomorrow for prospective students to tour its facilities and see the courses on offer.

A college spokesman said: "In light of the announcement from the government advising to avoid ‘all non-essential social contact’ we have taken the difficult decision to postpone this Wednesday’s Open Event.

"Student and staff safety will always be at the forefront of our thinking and our number one priority."

The spokesman added: "We will share details over the next few weeks of additional sessions and resources available online to help answer student and parent questions, support with applications and highlight why the college remains an incredible place to learn."
