"We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with the health protection team, which is satisfied the correct actions have been taken and that the school should remain open."

The spokesperson said surfaces in the building have been cleaned and protected using an 'innovative' cleaning system which provides long lasting surface protection, fighting the virus long after conventional cleaning products have stopped working.

According to the school, at the start of term it implemented a new timetable, a staggered day and new routines to limit movement around the building and to keep year groups separate.
