Milton Keynes school hit by Covid-19 outbreak sends another year group home

A Milton Keynes school has had to send another one of its year groups home due to a Covid-19 infection

The Radcliffe School, in Wolverton, sent out a letter to parents alerting them that a Year 10 student has tested positive for the virus and, as a precaution, the whole of the Year 10 has been forced to self-isolate until Monday, November 30.

In the letter, signed by head teacher Paula Lawson, it says: "I know this will be disappointing but we wanted to inform everyone as soon as we could, as we want to limit the amount of contact the Year 10 students have with each other. and the rest of the community."

This news comes after students in Year 7, 9 and 11 had to be closed, too, because each year group also has had positive cases of Covid-19 within them.

The school's website says Year 11 and 7 will return on November 25, and Year 9 will return on November 24.

The government's guidance around Covid-19 in schools says that an outbreak can be defined if a school has 'two or more confirmed cases within 14 days'.
