On January 4 Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a third national lockdown in the UK, closing schools across the country.

The only children still permitted to attend schools are children of key workers or those who have no alternative childcare. A vast majority of the nation are once again completing the curriculum via remote online learning.

Today, on Monday January 25, four schools in Milton Keynes, operating on a limited capacity are temporarily closed due to the icy snowy weather and the need to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Knowles Nursery is one of four schools closed in Milton Keynes today, on January 25

Emerson Valley Junior on Hoddler Lane and Merebrook Infant School on Dulverton Drive in Furzton have both closed due to weather conditions. Walnuts School has also closed both sites at Hazeley and Bletchley.

These schools will reopen tomorrow weather permitting.

Knowles Nursery on Queensway in Bletchley will remain closed until January 27 following a positive coronavirus case on January 15. Staff and children present in the afternoon session from which the positive case was confirmed, will be self-isolating for 10 days until January 27.
