Whole year group at Milton Keynes school forced to self-isolate following Covid-19 infections
A whole year group at a Milton Keynes school has been sent home due to confirmed cases of Covid-19
Shenley Brook End School sent an email out to parents today (Monday) alerting them that the whole of Year 10 must self-isolate following two confirmed cases of the virus within the school.
The email, signed by headteacher Chris Holmwood, says that the students will not be able to return to school until the New Year due to the period of time they must self-isolate, which is until December 18.
Mr Holmwood said: "We have been advised today that two of our students have tested positively for Covid-19. They are in two separate year groups. The school has followed its guidance and implemented its track and trace protocols and identified and contacted students and families.
"A small group of students have been asked to go home in one year group and on the advice of the Public Health Protection Team our Year 10 year group have also been told to go home, self-isolate and follow the correct procedures. Online learning is being provided. Relevant classrooms have already been had further deep cleaning today."
The school said it continues to monitor the situation.
