The initiative was founded by Gemma Little as is a sub group of the national site called For the Love of Scrubs.

It has a large number of coordinators to keep the group running smoothly and ensure all orders are fulfilled, while a team of volunteers spend their days delivering and collecting the goods as members sew them.

Local haberdashery shops and printing companies have all offered their support too in donating fabric, buttons, elastic, threads and patterns.
