Fewer Covid-19 patients in hospital in Bucks and Milton Keynes

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust was caring for 142 coronavirus patients in hospital as of Tuesday, February 16, figures show.

NHS England data shows the number of people being treated in hospital for Covid-19 by 8am on February 16 was down from 155 on the same day the previous week.

The number of beds at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid-19 has decreased by 16 per cent in the last four weeks – 28 days earlier, there were 169.

The figures also show that Milton Keynes University Hospital Trust was caring for 98 coronavirus patients in hospital as of Tuesday, February 16 - down from 124 on the same day the previous week.

The number of beds at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid-19 has decreased by 42 per cent in the last four weeks – 28 days earlier, there were 170.

Across England there were 17,093 people in hospital with Covid as of February 16, with 2,484 of them in mechanical ventilation beds.

The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalised nationally has decreased by 50 per cent in the last four weeks, while the number on mechanical ventilators has decreased by 31 per cent.

The figures also show that 66 new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust in the week to February 14. This was down from 83 in the previous seven days.

In the same week, 41 new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - down from 72 in the previous seven days.
