Giving his weekly COVID-19 update, Councillor Marland, said: "We do have a mass vaccination centre ready to open in the city centre capable of delivering 2,000 vaccinations a day, when it is given the go ahead. Which we hope will be very soon."

Cllr Marland also urged people to shop outside of busy hours, recommending essential shopping is done on weekdays after 6PM, rather than at peak times like the weekend.

The reasoning behind the current suspension of waste collection in Milton Keynes was also discussed. Cllr Marland revealed that council staff who work with the adult social care team protecting the elderly and vulnerable had received their first coronavirus vaccinations.

Mr Marland reiterated throughout the video the importance of trying to prevent the spread of the virus and signed off by stating, "COVID-19 is a risk to everyone and its impact is real.
