Milton Keynes school confirms second student tests positive for Covid-19

A second student at a Milton Keynes school has tested positive for the coronavirus following a party in Olney where 'hundreds' of pupils attended.

Ousedale School's headteacher, Sue Carbert, sent out a message to parents on Thursday (September 17) saying a Year 13 student has tested positive for Covid-19 following a party in some woods in Olney on Saturday, September 5.

Mrs Carbert said in the message to parents: "To update you, we have today learned of a second Covid case.

"The student concerned is part of the group currently self-isolating; the student attended school for one day on Monday, September 7 and is in the Sixth Form. Therefore, we have been advised that no further self-isolation or testing is required unless someone develops symptoms.

"The student concerned is not in the tutor group who are currently self-isolating."

The party, according to the headteacher, saw around one hundred students from Year 10 and above attend.Currently, all one hundred students are self-isolating until Sunday (September 20), according to the headteacher.

The first infected person from the school, a Sixth Form student, attended the party and later tested positive for the virus.
