Milton Keynes school hit by Covid-19 outbreak

The Ousedale School's Newport Pagnell Campus has had a number of students and two members of staff test positive for the virus, according to the council.

A Milton Keynes Council (MKC) spokesperson said: "The school is following all government guidance and is working closely with Public Health England and Milton Keynes Council to safeguard the school community. We understand that parents and carers are receiving regular updates.”

MKC failed to specify a date as to when the cases tested positive, how many people are self-isolating and what date they will return to school.

The school was given an opportunity to comment two days ago on Monday (October 21) but has not done so as of yet.

Last month, hundreds of students at the school were forced to self-isolate after attending a 'party in the woods' where one person in attendance later tested positive for the virus, with the head teacher, Sue Carbert, saying she was 'disappointed' in her pupils.

The government's guidance around Covid-19 in schools says that an outbreak can be defined if a school has 'two or more confirmed cases within 14 days'.
