At 8pm, people all over the country will join in giving a round of applause from their doorsteps, windows or balconies.
A Milton Keynes Council spokesman said: "Across the NHS, in care homes and the community, frontline staff work around the clock to support our loved ones.

The mass applause idea came from London yoga teacher Annemarie Plas, who was inspired by similar campaigns that have taken place in her home country of France.
She posted on social media, calling on people to join in “from the sofa, garden, balcony, street or anywhere" (obviously observing social distancing rules) to thank NHS, doctors, nurses, carers, GPs, pharmacists and other staff working hard to help those affected by the coronavirus.
Annemarie said: "The response has been incredible, it’s hugely exciting to see so many people get behind it.”

The campaign has received support from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who re-posted Annemarie's request on their Instagram, as well as celebrities including Victoria Beckham and Cheryl Cole.
Please send videos of yourself, your family or your street joining in the applause tonight to the MK Citizen Facebook page and we will publish the best.
