More than 50 new Covid cases confirmed in Milton Keynes in last 24 hours

As of today (Friday, November 27), there have been 53 new Covid cases recorded over the past 24 hours in Milton Keynes.

There has also been one covid-related death in the last 24 hours in MK, according to the government's latest statistics.

In the last seven days, 433 people have tested positive for the virus in the town.

There has now been 3,612 confirmed cases in MK since the start of the pandemic.

The latest R number for the healthcare region of East of England is estimated at 0.9 to 1.1 with a daily infection growth rate range of -1% to +2% as of November 27.

Nationally there has been 16,022 confirmed cases in the last 24 hours and 1,589,301 in total since the pandemic first began.

The government announced yesterday that Milton Keynes would be in tier 2 (high risk) when lockdown ends next Wednesday (December 2). The decision was due to the rate that numbers of Covid cases had been increasing over the past few weeks
