No new cases of Covid-19 today in Milton Keynes

This is the first time in days that MK has been clear. And there have also been no Covid-linked deaths at the city hospital.

The number of local cases since the start of the pandemic stands at 861. These include Pillar 1 hospital tests and Pillar 2 swabs carried out at testing centres and in the community.

Nationally the death toll dropped from 138 yesterday to 85 today. But the UK infection rate rose from 398 new cases yesterday to 538 today.

The total number of lab-confirmed cases in the UK is now 291,911 and the nation's death toll is 45,053.
