No new Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours at Milton Keynes hospital

No new deaths from coronavirus have been recorded at the Milton Keynes Hospital Trust over the past 24 hours, the latest official figures show.

NHS England figures show 88 people had died in hospital at the Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as of 5pm on Monday (April 27) – the same number as on Sunday.

​A week ago, there were 76 deaths.

The victims were among 2,210 deaths recorded across the East of England.

Of 23 trusts within the region, the Milton Keynes Hospital trust has the 13th highest death toll.

The government daily statistics do not include deaths in care homes or the community. These are published separately on a weekly basis by the Office

for National Statistics.

Today's ONS figures show there were 71 deaths in care homes in MK in the two weeks between Friday April 10 and Friday April 24.

Of these, 27 deaths were attributed to Covid-19.

Nationally, this brings the total number of deaths in care homes linked to the virus since the start of the pandemic to 3,096.

As of yesterday afternoon (Monday) there were 436 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Milton Keynes, an increase of four since the previously notified figure of 432.
