One more coronavirus case confirmed in Milton Keynes today

Another case of Covid-19 has been confirmed in Mk over the past 24.

There were also two more cases over the weekend, bringing the city's total to 869 since the start of the pandemic. This includes Pillar 2 tests in the community as well as Pillar 1 tests through the hospital.

There have been no deaths at MK hospital, where the last Covid-linked fatality took place three weeks ago, on July 4.

These statistics place Milton Keynes close to the bottom of a list of 315 local authorities in the UK, based of the total number of cases per 100,000 population.

Nationally, today saw one the the lowest death tolls since the beginning of lockdown, with seven coronavirus- linked fatalities registered across the UK over the past 24 hours.

There have been 685 new lab-confirmed UK cases nationally during the same period, bringing the total to 300,111.

The nation's death toll now stands at 45,759.
