People over 70 in Milton Keynes invited to book vaccinations

This invitation is applicable to all residents over the age of 70 even those who hadn't previously received a letter of invitation from the NHS.

You can book an appointment online here on the NHS website or call 119 between 7am and 11pm, seven days a week.

Bookings can also be organised by contacting your GP practice.

NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes released the following statement: "“People aged 70 and over who have not yet been vaccinated against COVID and who would like to be are today being asked to contact the NHS to arrange a jab.

“Until now the NHS has asked people to wait until they are contacted to help ensure that those who are most vulnerable are protected first – and that remains the case for most people.

“However, to ensure absolutely everyone is offered the vaccine, people aged 70 and over can now contact the NHS so they can be vaccinated by the middle of this month."

The latest data from NHS England revealed 85% of people aged over 80 in Milton Keynes, Luton and Bedfordshire have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

A mass vaccination centre opened in Milton Keynes on Monday in Saxon Court. All Milton Keynes GP surgeries are delivering vaccines with the primary hubs delivering between 2,000 to 3,000 vaccination doses a day. The vaccination hubs are set up at Bletchley, Westcroft health centre, Newport Pagnell Medical Centre, CMK Medical Centre (on Bradwell Common), Whitehouse health centre, Oakridge Park Medical Centre and Asplands in Woburn Sands.
